Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have been so blessed to be the teacher of 28 of the most diligent and courageous 4th graders. These students overcome challenges both in and out of the classroom everyday, but choose to have a smile on their faces when they come to school. If learning in school and making new friends isn't a challenge all on its own, 99% of our school's population receive free or reduced priced lunch. These students are not only the hardest working children I have ever met, but they are the most thankful children I have ever been around in my life.

Despite the challenges that these students undergo everyday, they are not the ones to give up, but rather to work harder to achieve their dreams.

It is a privilege to be their teacher and I will do whatever it takes to help them learn to the best of their abilities.

Science is one of our favorite subjects to learn in and out of the classroom because as we know "science is everywhere". Majority of the students do not have access to books or digital resources on a regular basis, especially non-fiction, grade level texts.

My Project

SuperScience magazine is the most exciting way to teach students the earth, life, and physical science concepts they need to know. Each issue shows current science events that are happening in our world today. It also provides real life photographs that engage students to research more about the topic and fully supports the grade level curriculum. Subscription to this magazine includes full access to SuperScience Online, which features: science videos, learning games, and printable skills sheets. These features build the literacy skills required by higher academic standards.

SuperScience Features:

Riveting science news stories too new for textbooks.

Next Generation Science Standards connection for every article.

Engineering articles and a career series that support STEM instruction.

Informational texts and ELA skills sheets that combine literacy and science.

Hands-on experiments using common classroom materials.

Review quizzes and activities for assessment and reinforcement.

Teacher's Guides with lesson plans and standards connections for every major article.

SuperScience Online featuring digital editions, videos, skills sheets, a lower reading level, and much more.
