My Students

My students are fabulous fourth graders! They are bright and creative, and they love to learn. I am beyond thrilled to welcome them back to in-person learning this year, in a bright and beautiful new classroom. Here's to an amazing 2021-2022 school year!

My Project

Scholastic Magazine is an excellent resource that keeps young people informed of current events (both domestic and abroad). Topics range from climate and scientific discoveries to social justice issues, and are always relevant. Scholastic does an excellent job of making information accessible to kids without watering it down. These magazines help improve students' reading comprehension and vocabulary skills, and give them opportunities to engage with informational text. The digital version provides fantastic videos to build students' background knowledge and are great to use before reading. What I love best about the digital articles are that they are available at different reading levels and they also have features that teach students to interact with the text such as zooming in, highlighting, and more. Students can access digital materials from home as well. Let's keep our kids informed on current events while boosting their literacy skills today, so that they can build a better future tomorrow!
