Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This magazine subscription is jam-packed with resources to make literacy, science, Social Studies, Social Emotional Learning and STEM more engaging for my students. Scholastic News covers a different topic each month. It also has built in "close reading" questions so the class can answer with text evidence. I love using the built in resources to practice reading comprehension because of how engaging the text is. The purchase also includes the digital version of the magazine so students can listen to the magazine first. We take a few days going through each magazine because of how rich the content and the resources are.

My students will receive access to a child-friendly magazine filled with current events that are relevant to their lives and experiences.

This is also a great resource to build literacy skills. Students have an opportunity to learn new vocabulary, practice answering questions with textual evidence, and forming opinions. My students will really enjoy learning a variety of skills while using this magazine and will especially grow in their love and appreciation for reading.
