This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a low-income area and come to school each day without their basic needs being met.
They have seen and have had to deal with things that most of us will never know.
Even with these circumstances, they come to school each day eager to learn and better themselves.
My 5th students are always looking for information and they are always eager to learn. Like most children, they learn best by being hands-on and love working together to enhance their learning. They are always trying to better themselves so they can become productive members of society. Having new materials for them to practice new skills and review past skills will not only be fun and engaging for them, but will help build their overall love of learning.
My Project
My students need to stay updated with the current events that are happening around the world. They all want to become global leaders. But, in order to do that they need to have the news broken down to their level. My students are eager to learn but they need materials that are at their level.
The scholastic news magazines will help my students broaden their horizons and see the world around them more.
The world is a very large and my students need to know more about it. Using these magazines they will be caught up on current events, which will help them become global leaders.
