This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very excited about reading this year and have informed me that they have a strong love for magazines!

This year I have the pleasure of working with only 13 students, that are all very diverse.

I have students that are still learning the English language and they are all of the Hispanic origin. Our school is geared towards being International and provides students with programs such as Rosetta Stone to learn the English or Spanish language.

My Project

With a class of 13 students, my main focus is to help them succeed by using differentiated instruction among other things. I plan to use these magazines to engage my students to practice their writing skills using Scholastic News and small group instruction with DynaMath for supplemental material.

In fourth grade, there is a District wide Writing Test and I feel that The Scholastic News will allow students to practice their writing.

They will be using these magazines to write current events which will allow them to cite evidence from magazine sources. The Dynamath will help improve my classroom by providing all kinds of learners with a different approach in teaching math.
