This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Families in Far Rockaway, NY were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. So many of my students lost their homes, their belongings, and precious memories.

We are a Title 1 Public School located in Far Rockaway, New York.

The students are a culturally diverse group of creative 5th graders. They enjoy creating and presenting projects but lack basic art supplies. We are developing the students literacy and math skills and love for school. Our students are passionate and creative, however the school lacks the funds to provide the materials for an extremely exciting classroom experience.

My Project

We are asking for supplies that my students will be using in the classroom on a regular basis. Scholastic Magazines are a non-fiction literary source which aligns with the Common Core Standards. Students will be able to work in small groups to read current articles and examine them on a deeper level.

Your donation will have a huge impact on the students of this school.

This project will help them appreciate knowledge and deep thinking. Thank you for thinking about our classroom.
