My Students

Financial literacy will ensure the future success of my students!

My students come for low-income homes, and we are a Title I school.

My students love math! They can't wait for math class every day. I love to see the joy on their faces when they get a math problem correct. I know they will learn so much about financial literacy and the economy through using iPads in the classroom! My students care about learning! They are always ready for school and show up eager each day. Math is a passion for many of my students. They enjoy our math lessons and working in partnerships and groups with each other. I have several "Math Leaders" in my class, and they are role models for other students in the class. They truly are remarkable children.

My Project

I am requesting The Scholastic Math magazine "Dyna Math" because it uses a lot of high-interest and real-world math problems. This will help my students build their skills in financial literacy. The magazine uses concepts that students can relate to, which makes learning about Math much more fun! I am also requesting an iPad mini with a case to explore financial literacy applications online. These applications will work well with the Dyna Math magazines in allowing them to explore the internet for real world solutions.
