Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and interact with their peers. We start the day with the Pledge of Allegiance as well as a class pledge. The class pledge reminds Them to be the best students and citizens that they can be.

I teach at a Title I school in New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged family homes. Despite being in a financial disadvantage they are very eager and excited to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.

My Project

Research shows that our students need more experience with a variety of high quality text and its features. Scholastic Classroom Magazines provides quality nonfiction articles that supports educational standards providing the ideal opportunity to enrich student learning and literacy.

The magazine provides students with engaging, high-interest text while the digital resources offer bonus interactive activities to extend their learning experience.

Each student will receive a magazine and access to the digital media with the classroom desktop computers and laptops in school as well as home. This will be a valuable resource for my students as we study the components of nonfiction text and enhance our learning with digital tools and features.
