My Students
I have a classroom of scholars that come to school eager and ready to learn. After 2 years of remote learning they are fully ready to be in the classroom setting all day. My school is located in an area where more than three-quarters of students are from low-income house holds. That doesn't stop them from giving school their best. This is my first time participating with DonorsChoose. I typically get whatever they need from my own pockets with no questions asked and no regrets. I am excited for them, they're an amazing batch of kids. We are hoping to get the supplies they need to have a successful school year.
My Project
These items are basic items that students use daily. I do not want my students to feel pressured when they don't have a pencil, or they used all their index cards, or their folder has ripped. Its unnecessary stress that the students don't need and have already been through enough during this pandemic. The materials can be used at home because they are the basic items that the students need daily. No child should be enabled from doing homework because they don't have a pencil. I want them to be and do their very best and sometimes its just the basics is all they need.
