Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students arrive to campus at various times throughout the day in high school. Many of our students who arrive late do not understand the importance of punctuality in the real world environment. In order to provide students real world scenarios in the safe environment of high school, teaching them how to be responsible for time is important.

Providing iPads to our team to scan students upon arrival to campus eliminates the struggle for teachers to maintain tardies on their attendance, provides immediate consequences for students who are late to class, and gives real time data to our administration regarding students who are not following campus protocols.

By donating two iPads, we can station ourselves at both building entrances to ensure students who are in our hallways are scanned upon arrival. If a student is late, not in class for any reason, or not in the correct building we will be able to safely redirect the student to the appropriate area. This would eliminate distractions for students, disruptions in the hallways, and provide real world learning for their future careers. Many of our students must learn in a post-pandemic world that being on time is crucial to their success in society.
