Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is dedicated to preparing our students to be successful socially, emotionally, and academically both now and in the future. We believe that through our commitment to learning, collaboration with families and the community, and collaboration amongst educators that we are preparing our students to become the next generation of leaders.

As a special education teacher, I strive to help my students become active learners within their classroom community.

I want them to succeed alongside their peers and become independent thinkers. I work with many teachers in different grade levels. By working together we create an environment where every student can reach his or her potential.

My Project

Our school's PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) team helps all students to be safe, respectful, and responsible at school. Throughout the year we plan different events to help promote positive behavior and increase our overall attendance. Students who demonstrate our school rules, being safe, being respectful, and being responsible, get to participate in our school-wide incentives. To reward students we have caught being good tickets that can be turned in for a weekly school raffle for students in kindergarten through 2nd grade, and a school store for our third through fifth graders.

By donating to our project, you will be helping to restock the items in our school store and raffle box.

We chose prizes that the students are really excited about trying to win, such as stress balls, bracelets, slime, stuffed animals, pens, notebooks, and tops. This variety will give us items for students in grades K3 through 5th something to choose from! With one trimester of the school year left, we are really hoping to finish the school year off on a positive note!
