Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Everyone needs motivation and people cheering them to success. I want to be that teacher for my middle schoolers who lack basic and foundational skills to be successful at their appropriate grade level. And, for these students, accessing the curriculum becomes a torturous bid, as a result of these gaps. Most of my students are from low-income and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, with parents who are not literate to help them academically. To bridge these gaps, we are starting an enrichment study group in the early hour before class starts and after school to close these gaps and make the playing ground even for all students. By committing to attend this enrichment, these students are choosing to make an effort to be solution-oriented and believers in the brighter future ahead of them.

Your donation of these snacks will go a long way in motivating them and, in effect, reward them for putting effort into their learning.

These kids are working extremely hard to get to where they are in their academic path despite the things that try to distract and hold them down. That's what we want to see, that's what I want to encourage in my students.
