Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students work hard, even if they struggle. They are kind to each other and understand that there are some in the classroom with special needs. More than 90% of my students are living in poverty, and yet they will still donate spare change to any fundraisers that help the sick or the needy.

My students deserve the best education possible, which is hard to get with the way our school budget has been so severely cut.

I want for them to know that I believe in them and in all of their potential and will find a way to get the supplies that they need even when the budget won't allow for it. They deserve to have a classroom that feels comfortable, safe, and like a home. We are like a family in my classroom. My students know that I take care of them.

My Project

I am consciously working hard to bring more technology into the classroom so my students can compete with others in this technological world. Using technology in the classroom can make it very noisy. This is why the headphones are a necessity.

The headphones will allow students to go online and listen to stories, play educational games, and watch videos that will enhance their education without it being too loud.

Kidsa-z.com reads stories out loud so students can become more fluent. Dreambox.com has video-game like sounds while students solve complex math problems to move on to the next level. Furthermore, Brainpop.com plays videos and gives quizzes in all subject areas. Therefore, the headphones make it so students can learn, play, and think without distracting others. And since IPads require special headphones, an adapter is important.
