My Students

It's hard enough for students to recall what they did in school that day, much less, what they did all year. We would like to create a digital memory book to capture all the fun activities and learning experiences throughout the whole year.

My students are very bright and eager learners.

They come from all walks of life and various neighborhoods in NYC. I have 26 students in my TAG class and we spend our days researching, exploring, discovering and learning. Some of my students do not have access to technological innovations at home. They rely on the opportunities in school to use high-tech equipment.

My Project

A digital camera will help my students to capture the experiences we are having in class. For example, recording and photographing scientific experiments;field trips; performances; etc.... the opportunities for capturing these one time memories are endless. A color printer, will help my students to print out hard copies of not just photos they have taken, but also print out copies of computerized work they have produced. Having access to this type of equipment will teach them how to take pictures; download them onto a computer; digitally edit them; and make digital prints. This will be the first step they take toward learning the skills of digital photography - skills they will use throughout their school life and beyond.

A picture paints a thousand words, and brings a smile to many.
