Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a highly enthusiastic and diverse group of learners! They come from wonderful families with a strong commitment to education, who will support their children as best as they can to achieve successfully in the classroom and in the future.
Unfortunately, as this is a Title I school, many students do not have academic support beyond what I provide in the classroom.
It is my job to make school as fun and enriched as possible. I believe that enhancing the curriculum with technology will enable my students to go further academically.
My Project
My students live in a digital world where they are used to recording moments and happenings on devices, preserving them forever with technology. I believe having digital cameras for this purpose in the classroom will further support the teaching and learning that we're doing each day. Further, I run the Yearbook Club, where we create a full-color book for each 5th grader, as well as a 15 minute movie to be shown at graduation. These cameras will go a long way in allowing the students to take ownership for the images and videos captured in both of these warm memories of elementary school.
