The key to getting a great Big Band sound is a combination of the correct approach and appropriate equipment. We have been working on the former, and now we need your help with the latter.
Specialty mouthpieces are expensive and students should not be asked to supply their own.
Having a "library" of equipment (including drum sticks and instrument stands) for students to use helps keep costs down for individual families who have students in one of our bands.
Some lessons we'll be able to have thanks to this equipment are: developing a cleaner tone, jazz idiom and inflection, and working on dynamic range. This project benefits students through this expanded learning of jazz style.
Any help on this project is greatly appreciated. These mouthpieces will really help our Jazz Band take things to the next level.
