This semester I am teaching 11th grade English, with Regents Prep, Art and Yearbook Production. Last spring semester I taught 12th grade, and will hopefully again this year, where I taught them how to write a college level research paper. As with many schools our budget is tight, and I have attempted to go paperless since both ink and paper are expensive, besides the fact that I prefer not to waste the earth's resources. Unfortunately this means my back is to the students for a lot of the period, while they try to keep up with the copying of notes.

My students are mixed between being low ability to average ability, but all need a lot of extra assistance. Since this generation of millennial students are highly depended on technology and the instant gratification it enables I want to capture this attention with my own technology.

I have borrowed an old LCD projector to demonstrate lessons in all three of the types of classes I teach, which helped, but would have been better if the projector didn't fail occasionally or only shine yellow because the controls are broken (which is difficult when explaining Mondrian or teaching Photoshop)

I really believe that with a media setup (that works well) I could really explain Art History, teach the Adobe Suite and demonstrate the way literature is all around us in such a better way than just writing it out on the board.
