My Project

As a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher, I introduce my high school students to valuable life skills that promote healthy habits, independency, and potential career paths, specifically in nutrition and wellness, hospitality management, and culinary arts. My students gain hands-on experience in our classroom kitchen, completing culinary labs that promote problem solving, literacy, mathematical analysis, STEM skills, healthy eating habits, and a balanced diet.

I would like to incorporate environmental responsibility into my curriculum by teaching the habit of recycling.

I believe that adding recycling as a part of our daily routine will make the students more aware of their impact on the planet and gain understanding of their responsibility to help save our environment.

Unfortunately, due to limited school funding and serving students from impoverished areas, the resources are not available. Thus, I am asking for community support by applying for grants and seeking out donations.
