As a sixth grade teacher, I spend my school year helping students adjust to the fast-paced, middle school experience as well as preparing them for future years. Specifically in science, I introduce them to concepts and experiences that they may not have anywhere else.
My students need to be able to dive into science headfirst and truly enjoy what they can learn.
The students I teach are highly motivated, kind and excited about trying new things! Help us continue our journey!
My Project
In my seventh grade life science classroom, we have a beloved pet turtle, Shelly. The students are wonderful caretakers and help keep her loved and happy! Sadly, Shelly is in need of some upgrades to her tank.
Keeping the water filtered is so important to Shelly's well being, but my students need to learn too!
Having a power filter will help keep Shelly safe, and my students will have the peace of mind that she is well taken care of.
My students do a great job of caring for Shelly, but could really use some tools to help keep up on her tank! The siphon can help them clean out waste that the filter can't reach. Students love having this hands-on example of how an organism's body systems work together!
