Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that my students get to come to school to not only be taught academics, but that I get to continue to help them work on motor skills. Helping them with sensory needs is also beneficial to improving their academic needs.

I am hoping that being able to provide items for my students' sensory needs so that they will be more successful in the classroom.

My students deserve to have the same opportunities as their peers in the general education setting. They need to have equity in their educational environment. Fair does not mean everyone gets the same thing, it means that everyone is given the same opportunity with supports that help them all reach the same goal. I am asking for a trampoline, a parachute, flexible seating, a tunnel tent to create a calming space for students. The liquid floor tiles, climbing toys, stepping stones will be used by students to learn to control their movements. The fidgets, basketball hoop, building blocks will be used as rewards. All these requested items will help create an environment where my students can learn to decompress and regulate their emotions.
