My Students

Our school is a Title I school. Most of our students come from a low socioeconomic background. However, they are extremely special and unique in more ways than one. They have an extreme love for learning and will stop at nothing to achieve success. My students face daily challenges that include poverty, housing conflicts, unstable households, violence, and crime. The majority of my students have witnessed a murder or heard that a family member or close friend was killed. All of my students receive free or reduced-rate lunch and, sometimes, this is the only hot meal they will eat. This is their reality. Many times they will come to school on an empty stomach. Providing breakfast, lunch, and a snack during the day are some of the things we do to help our students. We know that many of them will go home to either nothing on the table or a plate that may not be enough to satisfy their hunger. Again, this is their reality. We realize that our students are walking miracles.

My Project

With all the germs, viruses and flu bugs floating around these days, I'd like to provide our students with wipes, alcohol and peroxide (which we will use to spray our tables) and other supplies to help keep them germ-free.

Please help my students have a clean school classroom and learning environment.

My students are often ill and need to have a very clean learning environment. Many students have weakened immune systems. We need cleaning wipes, alcohol, peroxide, gloves and many more cleaning supplies. We will use the wipes, alcohol, and peroxide to keep the materials clean.

Having a clean environment is mandatory for my students. Most of them come from low income families. Having a clean learning space will help to brighten a child's day!
