My Students

My students are predominately all from low socio-economic backgrounds. Approximately 95% of the students receive government assistance as well as free lunch. They often come to school lacking the basic materials needed to be successful in the classroom. These circumstances affects their overall participation in class, their self confidence and sometimes their desire to learn.

My Project

Your generous donations will allow my students to prosper in the classroom under circumstances they normally would not have the opportunity. The supplies will be used throughout the day during instruction so that I can have an environment that is safe and comfortable. Every student will have the same opportunity as the next and will be confident without the barrier of not having adequate supplies. As I continue to work in urban schools, there has been one common factor: students tend to become dejected because they do not have basic needs. My classroom has always been the safe haven for my students.
