Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first grade teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district in the South Bronx. My class is filled with vibrant, eager learners who require a variety of ways to learn. About seventy-five percent of my students are performing below grade level. Many of my students live in shelters, receive out-of-classroom services for speech, reading and math, and are English language learners or have an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).

My students face many challenges each day and deserve nothing short of the best to help them reach their full potential and beyond.

For many of them, I am the only comfort, security, and positive source in their life. I want to make my students feel welcomed, appreciated, loved, and know that they can do anything they put their minds to!

My Project

As students transition back to a traditional school setting, we will need a variety of sanitizing supplies and wellness measures to keep students and staff healthy during the pandemic and the approaching cold and flu season. Having a variety of sanitizing supplies will ensure that I am doing my best to protect my students.

My students health and well being in very important to me!

Disposable face masks, hand soap, hand sanitizer, Kleenex, paper towels, and disinfecting wipes are the supplies needed to ensure that our learning environment is disinfected, clean, and safe. With your support we can have a healthy school year.
