This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students come to pre-k lacking the essential language development, fine motor skills, and ability to work with and share with other students. The sensory light table will encourage my students to talk, build language skills, and develop fine motor skills, all while playing and interacting with other students. With your help, my students can receive a light up sand and water table that could be used for so many fun and exciting classroom and center activities. For example, students will be able to use the light table during science lessons to explore the differences in primary and secondary colors while mixing paint colors. They will also.be able to use the light table daily to practice fine motor skills needed to write, cut, etc. by using tweezers to sort colored beads into different categories on the light table. Thank you for considering our project and helping to make learning so fun for our pre-k children, not only for this year, but for many years to come. I can just imagine the endless leaning possibilities that students will have mixing colors of paint, water, food coloring, exploring measuring cups with water, sand, colored rice to find letters, seasonal fun such as pumpkin and apple sink or float activities, learning about nature and more!
