This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Pre-K students learn through play. Sand and water is a critical part of the Pre-K classroom. Digging in the sand and having things float and sink are all learning experiences our students need. In our class students have several times a day to work at centers. Center time is when students have time to converse with each other and learn from one another. Our current center only allows 1 student at a time to enjoy this center. With these new tables, 4 students could work together at a time. This will help them gain skills such as sharing, taking turns, speaking and listening, as well as, learning about sink and float and how to create in the sand.
Sand and water center is an exciting part of our classroom where all students love to learn.
The students in my class are always inquisitive. Most of the students in my class come from lower economic homes so they may not get the opportunity at home to experiment with sand.
