This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Special Education educator at the Richard H. Hungerford School in Staten Island. I currently teach 9th grade, 8:1:1 high school in a district 75 school My students make me so proud displaying their determination, and for sharing their lives with me. Please help me give my students the visual, audio, and hands-on materials to enhance all areas of learning. I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a safe environment, supporting risk-taking, and inviting a sharing of ideas. My students bring me such joy, I just want to be able to provide them with the proper tools to succeed in the classroom.

My Project

If my project gets funded, it will provide my students with the proper tools to succeed in the classroom. I have students with unique abilities whom need additionally support with visual, audio and hands-on activities to better support their academic growth. The wipe board will provide students with visual support. The headphones will provide students with audio support. The calendar will provide students with both visual and hands-on support. Being able to provide these materials will support my students academic growth and continue their educational journey.
