My Students

My students are inner city students. I service students from Kindergarten through the eighth grade. We also have a preschool classroom within our school. Many of my students live in the neighborhood and walk to school. Our school services a large student population both before and after school.

As a result, there are students who are in school as early as 6 AM and as late as 6 PM.

All of my students are eligible to receive the school breakfast and lunch for free.

My Project

Every day our school starts out with morning announcements. The entire school recites the Pledge of Allegiance. Our school does not have an American flag on display in the gymnasium so the students with me in the morning have no flag to recite the 'Pledge of Allegiance' to.

Our school hosts a majority of the middle school basketball games.

Having an American flag on display would allow both our players and spectators participate in the National Anthem with an American flag prominently on display.

I believe that the new American flag, pole and mounting hardware would make a huge impact in creating a sense of pride and honor amongst our students and help create a positive school environment.
