This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal of this project is to be able to promote safety to my students through preparation. I coach varsity and JV volleyball at a low-income high school. Many of the materials available to the team are shared with other sports as well as the P.E. program at our school. I would like your help in providing my students with their own equipment. The jump ropes and agility ladder give students a chance to obtain better control over their footwork. They also help build rhythm and coordination which is important in volleyball. Having great footwork can help prevent injuries to the student's feet. The pre-wrap and athletic tape are to be used to wrap student's ankles to give them better support while playing in matches. In volleyball ankle injuries are common. Therefore, being able to tape the student's ankles will help prevent serious injury.
