This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We currently share safety glasses between students in different class periods. The glasses are used for our laboratories required in our A - G Life and Physical Science classes that require us to have the students perform labs--nearly all of our classes. Each teacher has a supply of safety glasses. We have never had a sanitizing unit.

Given Covid, Flu, Common Cold and other diseases; it seems irresponsible for us to share glasses without sanitizing.

The goal for this project is to reduce cross contamination of biological hazards between students using shared equipment (Safety Glasses). We want to comply with generally accepted safety standards in the Biological and Chemical arenas.

We have a special mix of outrageously great teenagers transitioning into adulthood. These emerging adults represent a vast array of financially challenged students from a number of underrepresented cultures, religions and ethnicities. They are fabulous students to work with and for. We love 'em.
