My lacrosse players are a terrific group of young ladies! I coach both a High School Varsity and Junior Varsity lacrosse team. They are a very diverse group of young ladies that range from 9th to 12th grade. We want to make sure they stay safe and healthy while they work hard to be in great shape for our season.
My players are hard-working, earnest, conscientious, dedicated and focused.
They work diligently to achieve their goals both on the field and in the classroom and I am so proud to be their coach!
My Project
To ensure player safety, I must insist that everyone wears protective eyewear during all practices and games. However, not all of my players can afford the safety equipment needed to play lacrosse. I also want to monitor my players to make sure they are working hard but not overexerting themselves during practices.
I want to be able to have extra goggles so that everyone has the opportunity to play lacrosse, and no one is excluded.
Additionally, given that sudden cardiac arrest is the number one cause of death in teenage athletes, it is really important that we have a way to monitor their heart rate during workouts. The heart rate monitors will be a great way to monitor a sample of students to make sure we are working appropriately.
