My Project

MLE School in Wasilla, Alaska, is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and efficient learning environment for its students and staff. Upgrading the school's walkie-talkie system is a critical step in achieving these goals. Reliable communication tools are essential for ensuring student safety, particularly during emergencies or routine transitions such as recess, lunch, and dismissal. Walkie-talkies enable staff to coordinate swiftly, reducing response times in urgent situations like medical incidents or potential security threats.

For a school serving diverse learners, including those with special needs and non-English-speaking students, effective communication among staff is vital.

New walkie-talkies with enhanced range, clarity, and features would ensure that teachers, aides, and support personnel can seamlessly share information, helping to address the specific needs of these students promptly. Additionally, these tools are crucial for supporting emergency preparedness drills, ensuring all staff can follow protocols to protect every student.

The current equipment is outdated and unreliable, which poses a risk to daily operations and safety.
