Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are part of a school that aims to see every student succeed regardless of their background. We work hard to find each child's unique strength and encourage them to use that strength. Our kindergarten is composed of 24 students with diverse language and learning needs. They are a creative, happy, and curious group. They enjoy learning through doing and are amazed by the world around them. They love to create and explore as they learn to become better and better problem solvers.

My Project

Calendar math is one of our staple activities in Kindergarten. We use the calendar every day and use it to reinforce math skills. The letter chart we will use every week as we introduce the letters of the alphabet. The cushions and dots will help students learn together while maintaining a safe distance.

These tools will enhance our classroom instructions while also helping organize our space while we practice everyday skills.

In addition, once students are in the classroom learning together will also require that they do it while maintaining a safe distance from each other. The spots will be used at our small group table to help students stay in their own space.
