Meet my class of 30 resilient students. My class is always ready to learn whether at home quarantined or in the classroom. They impress me with their creativity and technology skills and really help me make class in person or online exciting.
I have a class of avid readers.
These avid readers need materials on their levels with events that are happening today. When they know what is going on in the world currently they love to discuss ways to make situations better. They are goal setters and do gooders.
My students are diligent in completing their classroom jobs. We have been able to keep our classroom clean because they take it seriously and really want to protect their classmates.
My Project
Having 30 students during this crazy health crisis has made teaching increasingly difficult. Students get sick, or have sick family members and need to quarantine at home. I do my best to keep the learning going no matter if students are at home or in the classroom. It's difficult to hold a camera while teaching online. A new document camera that is compatible with my laptop, will help me be able to instruct students with the classroom materials we use in class. Being able to connect a document camera to a computer is imperative to teaching online. Since updating my laptop, my old document camera no longer works with it. It was a great camera but it's due for an update.
A clean classroom is a healthy, safe classroom.
Air filters for our classroom air purifier, and cleaning wipes will help get rid of pesky germs. Students can feel safe when they know they are learning in a clean environment. My students share many materials, having cleaning wipes can help keep technology, hands, and common surfaces clean.
Reading about events that are happening now with Scholastic News will surely inspire students to get involved in making the world a better place. It will be a positive way to get students practice reading on grade level materials that they can take home and read multiple time.
