Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal is to create a welcoming and safe space for my middle school students. When students come in, whether a therapy session or a drop-in, I want them to have the resources they need. Since every student is different, I want to have a variety of items. I also want to empower them and demonstrate that they have the ability to self-soothe and self-regulate.

A large population of our students are from underprivileged backgrounds.

This can create barriers to accessing mental health services but hope that this space makes it at least a little bit easier
