My Project

I am a special education teacher in an elementary school. I am always looking for ideas to help support my students. My focus right now is how to improve the sensory spot in my classroom. I have many students that come into my classroom to help support their sensory needs.

The sensory area helps provide a safe space to explore their senses and help regulate their emotions.

My students can become overwhelmed and overstimulated in the general education classrooms. This sensory area will be a calm and quiet space to help them decompress.

With help, we can create a sensory area with sensory items such as sand and sensory blocks to larger items such a as a spinning chair to help. These items will not only help support my current students but also future students. Thank you for helping support my students' sensory needs.
