Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The specific items that I am requesting will really help my students to be able to take moments to calm their minds when they have had a bad day. It is a place where students can take the time to gather themselves and organize their thoughts independently. By providing them with leveled books, I hope to share the joy of reading with all levels of reading.

In this reading corner, I plan to allow it to be a safe space, but also a place where all the students can sit together and choral read a book together.

By having the easel and post-it notes, it will help my students be able to see their own and their classmates' thoughts in front of them. Thus, helping them to build on one another's answers and in turn learn from their peers.

I also want to help these students become familiar with the letters they will always be seeing and using. By providing them with supplies in the classroom, I want them to always have access to what they need and learn to use supplies in a respectful and responsible way.
