Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My class is comprised of beautiful and intelligent special education students from various cultural backgrounds in a low-income school. All of my students are two or more grade levels below their academic grade level. Many come from broken homes or live in foster care. One hundred percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch, and many of them go home with a backpack of food to get through the weekend. Your generosity will afford these students the opportunity to become lifelong learners!
These bright and determined students' current academic performance is below grade level, so they need every advantage possible, but we are in a school district with low funding.
Please help us! I want to give them every advantage possible to make academic gains and find a love of learning that matches my love of teaching them. Please help me accomplish this worthwhile endeavor.
My Project
We are about to return students to the classroom in a school that was just remodeled. A few things were not in the budget but are necessary for student engagement and learning. Your support will help provide the items still needed.
Eight hours a day five days a week my students spend in artificial lighting that affects concentration.
My students need light diffusers to reduce the glare and help students focus reducing eye strain and headaches. Other items needed include a board for classroom organization, curtains to cover windows in the classroom doors, and a task chair for small group instruction.
Please consider donating to my students' needs to provide a secure learning environment where children are comfortable learning.
