My students need these safety locks to secure our rooms in the event of an on campus intruder. The Barracuda Intruder System will be a great defense mechanism to have on hand in the classroom.

My Students

I teach Third Grade in a lower economic school in which we have a very high percentage of free and reduced lunch. We are a school wide Title School district in which we do implement a tier time to aid students in strengthening their academic weaknesses.

When students come to school, it should be a safe welcoming learning environment that they can be successful in all they do.

A good experience in a classroom will help set the tone for all their future endeavors in education. These students will be the ones to shape our own future, so we have to help begin theirs each day!

My Project

Due to recent events in our country, safety in schools has become a great concern. Our school is no exception to the rule.

If a child does not feel safe in their own environment, they cannot successfully learn and grow academically.

Safety now has to become our number one priority before learning can occur. Although our classroom doors lock, The Barracuda scissor locks would enable us to further protect our students and staff by not allowing the hinges on our doors to open from the outside. It also allows the door to be secured from the inside of the classroom very quickly in an emergency situation. It also a very inconspicuous device and will not draw attention to our classroom while in an unfortunate lock down situation.

We are asking to purchase these locks for our entire Third Grade level. Many students and parents have been inquiring as to our emergency procedures to ensure their childs' safety, and we would love to be able to proudly say we have the most secure rooms for their children.
