Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are best described as young people with big emotions that need to be heard and validated.

I am a support teacher and a case manager for special education students with emotional disturbances or behavior challenges.

I support a caseload of students, but I also travel into other teachers classrooms to help them give accommodations and strategies to best support kids.

My students usually come from lower economic backgrounds and have had personal issues that have affected their well being. My students are generally very emotional with huge hearts that they can't always understand themselves. They require patience and understanding.

My Project

My students are the kiddos with anxiety, behavior disorders and trauma. I want to help them have fun experiences while they are in school without having to heavily focus on the pandemic.

The projector will be used to have fun and safe outdoor classes and also to accommodate the after school club where we critique videos and movies.

The chart paper will be used to keep a rewards chart, make posters, do projects and other things that might come up. Also I just love large chart paper!

The kids will be so grateful to get to have class outside and to keep our class on the go and exciting.
