Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Counselor at my school that works with a culturally diverse population of students from pre-k through 5th grade. In our school, we deeply value the social-emotional learning of all of our students and believe in the importance of providing students with group and individual counseling to enhance their development.

My students are unique and creative young individuals that enjoy and benefit from hands-on activities that make counseling more fun and interactive.

My Project

I'll be working in person at my school, providing counseling for all students as they return after being six months away from our school. This pandemic has made an incredible impact on the social-emotional development of our students, which may make it difficult for many of them to verbally express what they've been through and how they're feeling.

These materials will help students with hands-on activities that will make it easier for them to release stress and anxiety and express their thoughts through play.

To follow safety guidelines, it's critical that each student is provided with their own individual basket with supplies. In the event that we have to return to remote learning, these supplies could also be used to take home.
