My Students

I'm a dance teacher in a Title I school in Upper Manhattan, NYC. The neighborhood school serves primarily minority, low-income families who really depend on school generated resources to fund all special events and projects. We have a strong focus on performing and visual arts with all of the children participating in dance, music, and art classes. We are well known for our excellent performance productions which are presented three times during the year. Each performance has a new and different theme and the original material presented is always fresh and unique.

We now also have a Russian Dual Language program in our school which serves children currently in grades PreK, K, One and Two.

These children have the opportunity to participate in Russian language immersion and an English language immersion on alternate school days. The launch of this program has been a wonderful addition to our school community which also features a long-running​ Spanish Dual Language program.

My Project

Our school currently offers a Russian Dual Language program for Grades Pre K, K, One and Two. We would like to represent Russian culture and traditions in our upcoming December 2019 Concert with a performance Dance project which will include Russian music.

I would like for the group to be outfitted in traditional costumes to complete the project and make the children really shine and feel excited and proud of themselves.

This will also be an opportunity for other students to gain awareness of Russian music and culture and the beautiful and rich traditions of that country.
