My Project

My plan is to create a team of readers who read diverse perspectives about a shared experience. I recently received a class set of Jason Reynolds' Ghost, the wonderful first book in his Track Series. As I was planning the unit for my sixth graders, I remembered that there were in fact three more books in the series, all revolving around the same basic characters and setting.

How cool would it be if within my classes, different students read stories from the same series told by different narrators?

How better to reflect the diversity within my classes by having students engage with a variety of characters around the same theme? I can't wait to get to the starting line. You can pass me the baton by helping me purchase the rest of the books in the series.
