Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school just started our Fall season with a running program for girls in grades 3rd-5th called Girls on the Run (GOTR). It provides girls with emotional and social skills to help them in all areas of life. Physical exercise is intertwined with these lessons to assist girls with healthy habits and positive lifestyles. I have loved and volunteered as a coach for this program for 7 years now and can't say enough about how truly wonderful it is for these young ladies.

The girls would love to be able to represent themselves as a team when we have practices and school events!

This program helps 3rd-5th grade girls gain confidence, decision-making skills, and empowerment. This year we have 24 beautiful young ladies who have excitedly joined our team at Crossroads. As a part of the program the girls work together as a team to succeed at goals they set. The materials in this project will provide a way for them to work together to design and make their team capes, as a team! Thank you for helping to make this as amazing season for our girls!
