My Students

The students that are participating in this project are passionate, hardworking, and dedicated. These 7th and 8th-grade students are preparing for the Los Angeles Marathon in March of 2022. They train after school 3-4 days a week including the weekends. They are dedicated to improving their run time, overall fitness, and helping one another accomplish their run goals. This group of 14 students has become close-knit family since training has begun.

Long-distance running requires mental toughness, hard work and months of training.

Despite the challenges of completing their coursework, these students are consistent and determined to reach their goals.

My Project

The running gear and equipment I am requesting is to help support 7th and 8th-grade students in training for the LA marathon in March of 2022. We are currently running and training for smaller runs which will eventually lead up to the 26.2 miles students will run in March. Three to four days a week, students are training after school and sometimes on the weekend. Students run many miles together and often help spur and encourage one another on in completing each run.

Running and training have improved our students' physical and mental health since we have started training.

The running belts will help students be able to run without having to carry their phones and help with carrying any other equipment they may need. Our weather constantly changes and training can be extremely exhausting from running in the heat. We need every student to have a water bottle for run days and for run events.

Please support our team of amazing students as we train to reach our goal of completing a marathon.
