Rugby What?

Help me give my students an opportunity to think outside the box. Rugby is a unique game, it’s unlike many of our American sports. I would like to challenge my students thinking and strategies with this new game.

My Project

If my project is fully funded, I will introduce the sport of rugby and invite members of the Boulder rugby team, to help me run drills and teach my students about this unique game of touch rugby.

I believe that kids can learn a lot from play.

In this game, you run to the open space and pass the ball backwards. It challenges our traditional way of playing sports where everything goes forward, including the ball.

At our middle school, I feel it is very important to introduce as many games and sports ideas and strategies as possible so the kids can carry this with them as they enter high school and choose their path of identity.

The world championship rugby will be coming to Colorado in about six or seven years. it is not a very popular sport in our community so teaching it in introducing it to kids well provide more interest in knowledge about the game.
