My Students

Where I work with students, the students are eager to learn but have restrictions to further their learning at home due to the poverty rate. Students comes to school needing to strengthen their basic social, emotional, and academic skills. A big challenge that we face as educators is meeting the students where they are and producing the most that we can with the time we have together. Parents are willing to help students with their growth and learning, helping them to succeed and be a learner for a life time.

Everyday, I am thankful for the opportunity to teach these amazing students.

My Project

With having a rug in our classroom, it provides a space in our class where we can all come together. As a class we plan to us the rug in our class as a place to conduct morning meetings, work in groups, conduct whole group lessons, and enjoy our breaks. This allows for transition of movement with getting students away from their desks and having an enjoyable place to learn, engage with myself and others, and have fun in our classroom. This rug can bring our classroom together as a community.
