Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade with varying disabilities. More than 50% of students in our school come from low-income households and often do not have appropriate resources to support learning. Although some may not have designated work spaces at home, my aim is to provide that for them in my therapy room. However, my students have expressed that our current table is too small and are often easily distracted by being in such close proximity to their peers. They often bump elbows and knees while trying to work.

New round tables will give my students space to sit comfortably, increasing their focus and motivation to learn.

More table space will also allow for a wider variety of language-promoting activities such as crafting and cooking demonstrations. New tables will tremendously increase my students' quality of learning.
