Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I public school located in inner-city Los Angeles. Many of my students come from low-income families and do not have regular access to books, supplies, or even regular homework support. They depend on teachers and school staff for support.

They are eager and enthusiastic students who come to school to learn new things every day with a positive attitude.

I strive to provide them with an environment that can help them be successful. They are curious about all things around them and the unknowns.

My Project

The revolving bookcases will store & display the different books by genre, author, or subject. It will allow for a series of books to be together so it can be accessible for students to browse. Students will bookshop from a different bookcase design versus the traditional school bookcase, allowing for the classroom to feel cozy.

It will save space from areas in the classroom that students could use to kick up their feet and enjoy their books.

The revolving bookcase will not only help to store our classroom library books but it will give the students a homey classroom with extra spaces to read.
