My Project
During the course of our next project, “Roots Of Harlem”, students will be collaborating with Harlem Roots Community Garden, a non-profit group (Green Thumb) that installs and maintain gardens throughout New York City. The hands-on element of our learning about producing healthy food will include designing, building, and installing space-specific planter beds for our elementary schools developing garden education programs.
As a result of this project, students will better understand sustainable food and water use, develop designs and building skills, engage in professional communication with their community, and build the technological know-how.
