I am a reading interventionist in a Title I school with over 50% English language learners! We work hard to develop phonics, reading, and writing skills for the majority of the school day. We need books to help our students succeed and develop a love of reading!
My students are from all over the world - Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Burma, Malaysia, Mexico, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Pakistan, and Nepal.
They are refugees and immigrants who are learning English and love to come to school! However, their life experiences have limited their exposure to reading and writing. We are using shared reading, read alouds, and interactive writing to improve these skills. They need good books as a foundation to develop these skills. Please help us to develop a love of reading in our students!
My Project
I am an ESL teacher and I instruct children using the Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention. This is an amazing reading intervention and my students have shown amazing improvement with their reading levels. Next school year however, I will need to share my classroom with two other teachers. I desperately need these room dividers so that we can all teach our students without distractions.
All of the students in the reading intervention program need a less distracting environment.
The wall partitions will provide privacy and a sound buffer. This is essential to the success of our students!
Please help provide a conducive learning environment for our struggling readers. These room dividers will be highly effective in providing a quiet place for children to learn to read.
